Brian King, PE

President

Brian King is one of the Triangle’s most highly sought-after Stormwater Engineers.

Born and raised in Asheville, his passion for the outdoors and environment started at a young age.  He spent most of his time outdoors going camping, hiking, skiing, fishing and swimming in the local rivers.  To this day, his respect for the environment is reflected in everything he does.

Brian graduated AC Reynolds High School near the top of his class in 1992.  He then began his adventure in Raleigh where he earned his Environmental Engineering Degree from NC State.  After obtaining his North Carolina Professional Engineers license in 2005, he proudly continues to call North Carolina his home.

In 2009, new regulations led Brian and John Harris to open a Stormwater division within Harris Engineering.  Clients needing stormwater construction repairs were regularly seeking Brian’s recommendations and expertise to fulfil their needs.  While Brian is still responsible for overseeing the stormwater division within Harris, he has since opened StormWorx to offer stormwater construction services.

Prior to Harris Engineering, Brian held positions as a construction manager (Duke Realty) and Design Engineer (John R. McAdams).  Past experiences also include time as a Soils Engineer working on airports (Tierra) and wetland recovery efforts through the Army Corps of Engineers.

Brian’s many years of hands-on experience in Geo-technical, Soils, Materials, Civil and Environmental engineering provide him with a skill set to be desired.
