Why did I receive a letter from the city?
There is a SCM, or Stormwater Control Measure, located on your property that is regulareted witnin local and state municipaliteis. In order to remain in compliance – they need to be certified by an approved engineer or certified inspector. If ignored, the owner can be costly as it may become in violation of the Clean Water Act
What is a BMP?
BMP (Best Management Practice) and SCM (Stormwater Control Measures) are in place to help protect the enviromnent by ensuring that stormwater is properly filtered before returning to our lakes and streams. These devices (Swales, Level Spreaders, Dry/Wet Ponds, Underground Detention Pipes, etc) may require repair in order to pass inspection.
What is difference between BMP and SCM?
A Stormwater System has a BMP or “Best Management Practices” that were followed. That term has simply changed over the years to SCM which stands for “Stormwater Control Measures”. Both refer to the Measures and Practices required to ensure your Stormwater System meets your local requirements.
